How do people meet partners outside of online dating?

I've been on OLD for 18 months. Just deleted today as it's a bit of a cesspit! I can't handle it. But seriously how am I ever meant to meet anyone? I work from home permanently due to covid. I have a three year old so spend a lot of time with him. Can't really do clubs etc as whilst my parents have my son regularly, they can't commit to the same time every week. I'm not sure I'll ever meet anyone. I'm 30, would love to have more children but am accepting that it may never happen. I've been single for nearly 3 years now. I'm lonely. How on earth am I ever meant to meet anyone?

Possibly single Dads if/when you do school pick ups?
The gym at lunchtime?
Get a baby sitter (not your parents if they aren't available) and go out with your other single friends ?
Ask friends and family if they know any dateable single guys?
Any clubs/meet-ups for single parents?

Walking groups and voluntary organisations are all opening up now. It's really hard when you're a single mum and have limited time, but I think OLD is just for shags or scammers. Live your best life, do things you enjoy, pursue your interests and hopefully you'll meet a nice guy.

Parkrun seems to be a hotbed here. Both for middle aged new couples and single parents. I know at least five couples who met through running.

And yes, as Cherry said, do whatever you do because you want to do it and enjoy it, not to meet a man. That will happen when you're least expecting it because you're too busy enjoying life.

I picked my partner up from the local garage 😅

Do you have friends with single mates, brothers, team mates, work colleagues ?
Introductions and meeting through sport, (tri club, running , rugby, cycling, swimming) is how it works in my circle of friends.
