Baby after divorve

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone out there had another child after their divorce.

I just wanted to hear any positive or not so positive stories.

I’m in a relationship, I have one DS aged 7 and 2 SD. Me and my partner have talked about having another baby together.

How where your children when this happened? How did they react!

I guess I just need some advice?

Three kids from broken homes between you both, how are they coping? How would it benefit them? Would they feel ‘replaced’? Would they all have the same surname apart from your kid? How would all these kids be parented together, when they’re used to their own parent? Can you afford four teenagers, four uni fees, four loads of driving lessons, four iPhones etc.etc.etc.?

Don’t answer for me, just some basic things to think about.

How did you find being a single mum? That was the deciding factor for me as relationships do end, more so after divorce.

I couldn't do it all over again so decided not to. It's all well and good being loved up and wanting a child together but reality is you'd be left holding the baby if it all fell apart and that's something I couldn't repeat.

I just wouldn’t. Sorry OP - I’m in the minority but I don’t like blended families.

not a fan either of blended families especially with 3 already. Different if you had one and he had none, then one together but 3 is a lot.
