When to date when divorcing

If the divorce petition hasn’t yet been made, what do people think about one partner joining an online dating site and going on dates whilst having marriage counselling?

Does anyone believe the divorce should be finalised fully before dating?

If they've fully separated it's fine, if they're going to marriage counselling with the aim of repairing the relationship then absolutely not ok.

What about when partner says he hates the thought of spouse with anyone else / loves spouse so much and wants a future together, initiated the counselling but joins the dating website with money from the joint account?
Then refuses to ‘let’ divorce petitionee state there is dating going on as one of the reasons for the petition?
Asking for a friend….

I'm guessing your husband has already joined a dating website. Don't give the pathetic sod another thought, proceed with the divorce as he clearly doesn't care about saving the marriage by joining the dating site.

It's not worth the fight over using it as one of the reasons to divorce - easier to just use ones that he won't contest.

Yes, it's dickish and probably intended to scare the other person that someone else might want him as much as anything.

Then he's playing games and I wouldn't bother wasting any more money on counselling.

i think once the decision about the divorce is made you are free to move on with your life and relations. Sometimes divorce can take a long time. Does it mean you have to be single all this time? I don't think so. I am also checking some dating platforms now even we still live together with my boyfriend. Curious what is fetlife cost? Or should i go for tinder again? I am very from tired boring monotonic relationships and finally want to have some fun. My BF knows about that. Good thing about me - i am always honest with him.

I’m separated and living with my husband and I’m in dating sites.
