Does this mean he's not single?

Firstly for context - this man (Ian) has not claimed to be single and nothing has happened between us, I'm just curious....

We previously matched on OLD (beginning of this year) and follow each other on Instagram. Never 'met' IRL

Last week I seen him in the supermarket and we recognised each other & just smiled/said hi. I know I'm acting like a giddy teenager with a school crush but it's a long long time since I felt butterflies like that. When we chatted before online he seemed really nice but I started dating someone and it mutually fizzled out with Ian. No particular reason, just the way OLD is.

I'm not dating anyone now & honestly can't get Ian out my head!!! It's driving me insane.

Since we saw each other, he's started liking my IG posts but we're not matched on any dating apps anymore.

Anyway, back to my question 😂
I've looked him up on fb as I know his name from IG. His bit at the top where it has hometown, job etc. doesn't show his relationship status.
However, when I scroll down, back in April there is a post saying "in a relationship". I'm wondering if this means he was in a relationship briefly but now not, hence why it doesn't say "in a relationship" in his bio (this could be wishful thinking!) OR is it possible to only update your relationship status on your timeline without adding it to your profile summary part?

Please be kind. I know i sound about 12. I'm 36 and been mostly single the last 5 years since my exH had an affair and I've just never met anyone I 'clicked with'

I know if this guy was really interested he could message me himself on IG but he could also be shy etc. If he's not single I'd rather just know so I can try to stop obsessing over him!

Nobody here can tell you. To be honest you have the answer already though - he could message you if he was interested but he hasn’t. Move on to someone that’s less hard work.

I wondered if someone knew if the fact his relationship status is not on his profile summary (only his timeline) means that he's chosen to delete it. Or if it's possible to have one without the other.

It's me over thinking it and driving myself crazy. Not sure how he is hard work??

You won't tell from Facebook, I was married for years, then got divorced, I'm now engaged, but I've never ever put a relationship status on my profile It feels childish somehow. My friend's husband once randomly changed his relationship to 'married' and tagged her in, she removed the status (they'd been married at that point for 12 years!) so it could be that's the reason his has disappeared!! Sadly noone can tell just off that. If you're friends on IG, could you send him a friend request on FB, you may be able to see more activity on there?

If I were you though I'd ignore social media, he can show the world what he wants to portray on there, if he's interested he'll make his move

Are there any recent photos of him to suggest he might be in a relationship? Bear in mind you’ll be listed as one of his ‘people you might know’ now so he’ll know you’ve been having a snoop. I’ve been caught by this a few times
