Tonight’s been horrendous. I don’t normally like football but it’s England and it’s history in making I get it either win or lose however since showing that interest it’s just gone a little haywire here but I think I’m being a bit daft ? Or I
Know I’m not being daft but seeking reassurance if honest. There’s now a hole in our bedroom door and my arm was twisted from the wrist. I talk with my hands bbq a lot so gesticulate all the time but me getting excited with the football seemed to make my husband less interested in it. He shouted at me that I’d be calling police etc I don’t see how but why does it have to be that I can’t be excited or have an opinion ?

Honestly you should call the police.

This behaviour is not okay. There’s no justification - not even the euros. Not even you being excited at the game or gesturing your hand with excitement. Honestly this post has broken my heart - you were excited about the game and he attacked you.

He’s only worried about the police because he’s actually done something that he could be prosecuted for. It can and usually does escalate from here, especially as England has lost.

TeeBee · 11/07/2021 23:40

Are there children in the house OP? You need to get yourself and them out. Or call the police and get them to remove him.

Bananalanacake · 12/07/2021 00:07

Who owns the property you live in. Call the police as it's assault.

toocold54 · 12/07/2021 00:07

Of course it’s not ok to hurt you. Even if you said something horrible to him it’s still no excuse to get physical but it sounds like you just joined in with the football excitement like we all did. Why should you be punished for that!

FlyingBattie · 12/07/2021 00:28

No, it's not OK.
It's not OK to harm, physically or otherwise, anyone else.
I'm going to be honest- I would leave him. Once is too often. You need to show him you will not put up with this behaviour twice. Otherwise there is a very real risk it will escalate. Maybe it won't, but do you want to take that chance?

Meesechelt · 12/07/2021 00:33

He is asleep and not even bothered ? I’ve just now checked and so feel slightly stupid . Other than the hole in door and a slight mark and bruising I’d. Not even think anything just took place . He was so angry though I just feel sick

billy1966 · 12/07/2021 00:35

Yes you shouldcall the police on this pig.

He knows well he is wrong.

Are there children in this house?

username18702 · 12/07/2021 00:36

OP what do you want to do from here as his behaviour will only get worse. I understand he'll take this out on you tomorrow. Can you get some advice tomorrow on what to do?

Coyoacan · 12/07/2021 00:37

If you let this go, OP, it will be worse the next time and there will be a next time. I speak from experience.

RubyGoat · 12/07/2021 00:37

There is physical evidence he assaulted you. That’s enough to call the police & for them to believe you.

AtrociousCircumstance · 12/07/2021 00:38

Wtf?! Call the police OP!

He assaulted you. He’s pathetic, and he’s dangerous.

Call the police. It won’t go away or get better, it will only get worse.

FlyingBattie · 12/07/2021 00:38

Tomorrow, he may be all sweetness and apologies and promises. Do not believe him He's shown you who he truly is- believe him.
youvegottenminuteslynn · 12/07/2021 00:39

Photograph your injuries while they are there.

youvegottenminuteslynn · 12/07/2021 00:39

@youvegottenminuteslynn

Photograph your injuries while they are there.
To be clear, I mean while the injuries are there - absolutely NOT while he's there.
Meesechelt · 12/07/2021 00:41

I’ve tried to rehearse what I’d say and I just feel a bit silly because i can’t be natural now and ring it’s not on the moment I just feel like I’m blowing it up especially as he’s asleep all are settled tonight

OP posts:
MarkRuffaloCrumble · 12/07/2021 00:42

He has gripped you tightly enough to leave a mark and punched a hole in the wall. For reference my ex BF did both of those things a few weeks before her strangled me. Please don’t wait to see how far he’ll push it next time.

He has no respect for you or his home. The abuse statistics make for sad reading. The ones about women being killed by partners and ex partners make for even sadder reading. Get out before you become the latter. Once is too many times.

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 12/07/2021 00:43

And that’s how the get away with it. By tomorrow he’ll be acting like it didn’t happen, and you’ll be thinking it’s too late to make a fuss. But next time you’ll be extra careful not to try and set him off. And so the cycle begins. Flowers
username18702 · 12/07/2021 00:44

Dial 101 and say: My boyfriend bent back my wrist and punched a hole in the wall because he was angry at me. He's gone to bed and I don't know what to do.

They'll take it from there OP.

douliket · 12/07/2021 00:51

Have you been drinking? You don't seem very clear. Can u fully remember what happened as you are not making sense. I'm not excusing him assaulting you if you have been drinking,I'm just wondering if you are actually clear on what happened?

Meesechelt · 12/07/2021 00:54

I’ve not been drinking no. I don’t drink and haven’t for over five years but I do understand My messages aren’t the clearest.

username18702 · 12/07/2021 01:01

It's ok, you're in shock.

ineedaholidaynow · 12/07/2021 01:04

Please call the police. He has shown you what he can be like

Lweji · 12/07/2021 01:06

Even he knows you should call the police.
Whatever you do, you shouldn't stay with him. It won't be only this time.

Tiari · 12/07/2021 01:12

It's not at all silly to phone the police, even hours or days after the assault.
Do you have children?

Tiari · 12/07/2021 01:14

Has he ever done anything like this before?
