If you suspect someone doesn't like you, do you avoid them?

Just as the title says, if you get a feeling someone doesn't like you, or has it in for you, then do you make sure you stay away from them?

I have a small number of people in my life who I feel dislike me, are jealous of me (no reason to be I don't think), some maybe even hate me. I've come to this conclusion based on their attitude, and sometimes actions towards me.

So my question is, do any of you have this in your life, and if so, how do you continue to live your life around this? Do you just avoid these people?

I try my best to put people at ease and be kind. However if they don't like me that's their problem. If they become hostile or make it obvious I'm more than happy to confront them.

Yes, I do. There are always people who give you the impression that they don't like you much, for whatever reason. It makes sense that you then choose to spend little time with them.

One of my SILs is hard work. She's always given the impression that she doesn't like me much - she's polite and makes small talk and there is very little warmth about her. This has meant that I'm not very keen on her, and when we meet at family gatherings I say hello, but spend most of my time chatting with those people on DHs side of the family that I do like. I don't avoid SIL - but I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to meet up with her.

I assume she's happy to spend little time with me as well.
