Been seeing someone for about 6 months now. Both in forties. He usually sends a goodnight & good morning message. I always reply to all of his messages.

I called him twice yesterday and he didn't answer, which is understandable as his type of work doesn't have set lunch breaks etc. He didn't call back, which I didn't think too much of because I had so much going on.

My best friend is post surgery in hospital and sounded like she was having a panic attack last night, so I was texting her.

When I woke up this morning, I saw a goodnight text from boyfriend which was sent at 10pm. I texted "Goodmorning 😘" and later texted how I'm keeping DD off school today & taking her for a PCR test. He didn't respond, so a couple of hours later, I texted "No? Don't want to talk to me today?" And he responded with this:

"Well u were active a few minutes after I said night ....but u didn't read or reply ......but now u want me to reply to u .... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣....."

I was like Hmm and responded "I was?! I didn’t see your msg at all!!" and then explained how I was trying to comfort friend, then must have passed out. Also when you're chatting to someone on WhatsApp, you sometimes don't notice if another message comes in from someone else at the same time.

Anyway, I haven't heard from him all day. Tried calling once, no answer. Is he making excuses to end it?

He sounds like a game playing knob. So he’s not concerned about your child needing a PCR test or your friend being ill but is in a snot cause you left him accidentally on unread?

Is he usually such an arse?

All sounds a bit much to me..

Too much hard work.

Crimeismymiddlename · 09/07/2021 22:11

Erm, how bizarre. What a lot of hard work he must be.

All sounds a bit high maintenance to me. Not sure your message was totally necessary but his was just childish.
