My marriage broke down very suddenly 3 weeks ago and we have reached a verbal agreement which is more than the 20% for 2 children, and which I want paying for the next 20 years. Does anyone know what I do next?

go to a solicitor. anythign involving children will be scrutinised in a divorce court and need to be watertight, frankly it seems to be impossible to DIY divorce once you have children.

to keep costs down gather everythign up beforehand (all money information, whether you plan to divorce + on what grounds etc; prepare a list of questions and call 3 solicitors and ask if they will meet you for a freeby session or talk, after which you will choose one to do the job for you.

there are some excellent books - the Which guide, Divorce for dummies - which will help get you started too.

PS I am not an expert - just gone throught the experience. There are good websites too -i have been to ondivorce, and wikidivorce
