Will this mean fertility affected? I’m sick with stress and worry

I had a termination in early 30s. I’m 39 and about to start ttc. Terrified I won’t be able to because of what happened years ago. I took the first tablet and didn’t need more, I think as it was so early. I took antibiotics afterwards as precaution but I’ve always obsessed about infection ever since really. I’ve been for scans and I’m told it’s fine. I’m just scared about ttc now.

It shouldn't have any impact. Have you had your fertility (AMH levels etc) checked though? They aren't anything to do with your termination but your age.

Terrysbg · 01/07/2021 12:54

@Clymene no but I’ve been told it looks normal for my age and I should go ahead. I just feel scared about it all. I wanted to try sooner but hadn’t met anyone

Terminations don’t make you infertile 🙄

Where termination can sometimes impact on fertility is when you have a surgical termination (not the tablets), because it can in some cases lead to scarring in the uterus. There should be no effect from a medical termination.

Fwiw, I had surgical management of a miscarriage at 37 (which is basically the same procedure, but for a pregnancy that was not viable). I was pregnant again 6 weeks after. No impact at all on my fertility even in late 30s.

@interest12 was there any need for the eye roll?

And this is why pro-lifers need to be called out on their lies wherever possible.

Medical terminations have not been shown to affect future fertility, OP. Flowers
