Unfortunately a website isn't going to encourage someone to cheat;someone makes the conscious decision to do so when signing up to one;there are plenty of free websites out there for people looking for people to hook up with.

We also see numerous threads on here about people using OLD apps to cheat quite often.

I personally find Mucky Matt's face on this advert quite amusing.

Longestfewdaysupcoming · 29/06/2021 12:59

It’s in poor taste. But the government aren’t applying a public policy rule in the same way.

I can’t get enervated about it tbh. If someone is going to cheat an advert is hardly going to make a difference.

Emmelina · 29/06/2021 13:01

Can we be sure the company put the photo of Wanksock on the billboard? Did you take it yourself? Could be a photoshop. Or someone else stuck it on the original billboard with the door and bra?
(I don’t agree with the agency BTW, like many others here I’ve had a wandering partner and it’s highly unpleasant)

ZombeaArthur · 29/06/2021 13:04

Just when you think this whole appalling situation can’t get any more painful for his wife and children…

Hopingforabagofbuttons · 29/06/2021 13:06

If someone has it in their mind to cheat , then cheat they will. This is not going to have a massive impact on them.
Advertisers know the more controversial their product is, the more airplay they get. They’re doing their job well

walkoflifewoohoo · 29/06/2021 13:08

"Just when you think this whole appalling situation can’t get any more painful for his wife"

She might be fucking delighted to be rid of him...even more so to see him have the piss taken so publicly. Everybody painting her as the "poor wife" hurt and lost and distraught.

Fuck that. She's well rid. Weasel.

MargotHeggerty · 29/06/2021 13:08

I seen one recently
Not sure if same company or not but it was fpr an affair website and it was melamia trump....ill be honest it did make me giggle a bit and more importantly it stuck with me

Its clever advertising
Were here all talking about it!!
And adultery isnt illegal

merryhouse · 29/06/2021 13:12

@DaphneMoonsSeattle well, presumably he wasn't using their website. They're saying "don't be like this idiot."

I expect he would have a case for an injunction against using his image (though his public status might complicate things, IANAL). That would be a civil matter.

DrinkingWishingSmokingHoping · 29/06/2021 13:13
@MummieNiamh Adultery isn't illegal unfortunately. It's probably illegal to advertise some illegal things IDK.

I think the ad's quite funny. But upsetting if his wife and kids saw it.
Do you think adultery should be illegal then @me4real? What do think the penalty should be?

DaphneMoonsSeattle · 29/06/2021 13:19

Ah, maybe. Good point @merryhouse

MummieNiamh · 29/06/2021 13:45

@Melitza no rod up my arse! I just thought it's something none of us would want our kids seeing while walking down the street

I’ve been cheated on by everyone I’ve ever had a relationship with.

I think that advert is inspired! Good work by their advertising/media people.

LouLou2001xx · 29/06/2021 13:49

@DaphneMoonsSeattle yup that's exactly what they're saying

GoodToBeFree · 29/06/2021 14:14

@Hen2018 im unsure how you can be on the pro team then

HollowTalk · 29/06/2021 14:17

It's not MH though, is it? It's a lookalike.

Tal45 · 29/06/2021 14:30

Is that on a huge billboard? That's pretty gross to be honest. The advert is funny but to have an affair site plastered 10 feet high like that, like it's a perfectly acceptable thing to do is totally ick.

GoodToBeFree · 29/06/2021 14:33

@Tal45 agree 100%

Dominikaa · 29/06/2021 14:37

not funny

LouLou2001xx · 29/06/2021 14:54

@Dominikaa why is it not funny lol I think its pretty funny

KarenofSparta · 29/06/2021 14:56

As PR they haven't really thought it through have they.

FaceForRadio1973 · 29/06/2021 15:04

Call my cynical, but I think Mr. Photoshop has been involved.... Look at the sheets of paper. There's a lovely gap, right up to Matt Wanksock's forehead....

Still more than a little bit funny though...

GalaxyGirl24 · 29/06/2021 15:20

Hideous advert, don't find it funny especially not for his wife and children, but I suppose cheats are going to cheat regardless of whether there's an app or site for it!

GoodToBeFree · 29/06/2021 15:50

I think this is tragic and what is more tragic is how many comments are supporting this fiasco. i unsubscribe from life urgh

Hen2018 · 29/06/2021 16:35

@GoodToBeFree goodness, you don’t quite understand nuanced. I’m not on a “team”. It’s a mildly amusing and clever advert, carried out with immaculate timing by a company trying to make money.

I’m not in favour of the services the company offers, so I won’t be signing up (or whatever you have to do).

I’m glad Martha Hancock knows the truth now and hope that she has plenty of support. I wish her well particularly as she has long Covid.
