DH constantly on phone

DH is from a large family, eldest of his siblings. When he's not at work he's on the phone to either his sisters or brothers every single day.. sometimes twice a day, sometimes for an hour at at time. When not chatting to family, it's then friends (mostly who live abroad).

I never used to bother me but lately it's started to grate. He speaks loudly and has them on speaker too. Because some live abroad, this starts at 8am until he goes to work, and then can continue until 10 or 11pm at night. Every single day.

AIBU?

Join in the conversation? My dp has a friend who used to phone him every day and stay on the phone for an hour at a time. I started adding a comment so she could hear, and he started including me in the conversation as well. She doesn't do it any more.

He's has a day off today. The calls started at 7.30am. As at 3pm.. he's not been off the phone except for 30 mins. I work from home. It's a small home. I don't mind if it's like 15-30 mins each call, but it's 1-2 hours each. God only know what he finds to talk about - when it's like 'what are you doing.. oh nothing..' and then silence.. then 'what's the news'.. 'oh nothing'.. you think ok.. so get off the phone then.. you've checked in, they're ok! But that doesn't happen. This will continue until 10 or 11pm today. When I mention anything, he gets all niggly and doesn't see what the problem is. Sometimes I ban him from room I'm working in but can still hear him as he shouts on the phone. (They might be across the other side of the world but doesn't mean they can't hear him at normal volume!).

When does he get time to talk to you?

How weird. Doesn't he do anything?
