Love or infatuation/ lust? How do you know?

Just that really.

I’m so confused.

Can you trust your instinct?
Can you think it’s love when it’s really infatuation?
How can you tell the difference?
What are the markers of love?
Is love rational?
Can you love someone if you don’t fully know them?

@RillHunner This is why people date 🙂. To see if what they’re feeling is a passing fancy or if it’ll develop into something deeper. It doesn’t have to take 10 years, but I’d say after 6 months you should have a fair idea.

Plus things can change depending on circumstances. That’s just the risk you take. I deeply loved my ex until the day they cheated on me. Then I saw a completely different side of them. I quickly fell out of love with them after that.
