Life after divorce

I think my marriage is over. Aside from the heartbreak, I'm trying to get my head around the logistics. We both work full time, I just can't imagine how we would be able to afford 2 of everything we have now on the same money - 2 mortgages, 2 sets of bills. What do people do? Sell the house and buy two smaller properties? Or does one keep the house and the other go and rent a little bedsit? Does it ever get easier financially? I hope I could one day take my kids on holiday, I just can't imagine being able to afford it and having to pay a mortgage and everything else on my own - husband would be in same position. Is that simply the price of divorce?
