That's great Dior. He came to you. And he reassured you. PC's advice is brill.

Totally agree you should go to doc. It can't be helping if you feel so rubbish all of the time.

Sounds like you are making progress though

good news Dior, really pleased he came to you last night and you got good news at WW too.

whilst i'm on a roll can i ask you a question that might piss you off?

are you leaning towards "making him pay" or "punishing" him for all the past behaviour that has been so upsetting?

i can totally get why you would. i spent 3 months doing that last summer and in the end it contributed to H going doo-lally again.

it's normal IMO but there has to be a limit and a point where you move on from it otherwise your future together will always be based on the hurt he's caused you before now.

credit where credit's due, he seems to be trying hard and trying to anticipate and meet your needs. it's a two way street tho, are you doing the same back for him?

Fair enough that you would want most of the effort to come from him.

I guess from your side, as long as you acknowledge and appreciate the effort (and tell him that you do), then he will have the incentive to carry on. If that makes sense. If he think's his effort is going unnoticed or not getting through, then he could very well take the easy option and just give up.

Bit like toddler training positive re-inforcement!!

Business award evening sounds like it will be great.

how about a piece of dark chocolate... tastes awful but is actually supposed to be good for you

I guess a grape or piece of melon wouldn't have the same effect!!

lou33 · 20/11/2007 14:54

Hi Dior, sorry things haven't been too good with H - but it'll take time, and communication, for him (and you to relearn behaviour - great advice from PC and Baffy though, as usual. And a few choccies when you're feeling low really can't hurt (she says, having had rather a lot of chocs sent as thankyous at work recently .

You sound like you've got something similar to what I had recently - a 'cold' that didn't quite go away for weeks. It was only reading your bit about back aches that reminded me that my back was aching for ages, and that at some point in the past two week's, it's finally stopped. I was wondering if I was going to be a martyr to back pain in my old age, but it may have been part of the virus. Do get yourself checked out, just in case.
