My birthday is approaching and it happens to be on Father's day this year.. My ex first of all has to behave like a father to claim fathers day.. But he's now trying to claim the day as his contact day with DD as he knows he will have ruined my birthday.
I don't really care too much about my actual birthday... But I remembered when I was with him, every birthday, every mothers day, Christmas, new year, DDs birthday, holidays, weekends away.. Even my pregnancy.. It just all got ruined and trashed by him.
Is it a common trait in narcissistic men or was I just unlucky?

In a word yes they do, every happy nice occasion they will go out of their way to make utter shit for you. I don’t think they can bear the thought of you having a nice fun time. Rise above it & don’t let him ruin anymore days for you. X

Sorry you had to go through this op. You are right, narcissistic people do ruin every special occasion. They cannot stand it if they are not the centre of attention and they don't want others to be happy.
You are no longer with him anymore so he will not be able to ruin them for you now.

Yes agree. My exh started an argument with the staff at our wedding and went on go have arguments with staff every day on our honeymoon! My friend's narcissist exh publicly weed at her friend's wedding. So yes I think they all do it!
