Found a hair

So my friend is in rocky relationship.. they have a small son. He looks after the child while she works. Yesterday she came home and found one very long thick black hair (she is blonde) with root attached hanging over the toilet seat. Now she is very fussy and would likely clean the bathroom at least once a day. We do not know anybody with long black hair. We cannot work out where it has come from.

What would you think?

Off someones trousers. Especially if partner uses public transport...or works in an office (I used to clean offices and theres so much public hair about in them its unreal). I certainly wouldn't jump to 'affair' lol.

Umberellatheweatha · 19/05/2021 17:56

*pubic

pictish · 19/05/2021 17:57

Might have come from anywhere if any of them left the house in the last few days. That’s what I’d think.

KirstenBlest · 19/05/2021 17:58

definitely dodgy

BelleBlueBell · 19/05/2021 18:00

I'd think that if it's got to that stage the relationship is doomed

Does she think a dark haired woman visited the house and caught her hair in the toilet somehow?

Honeycombskl · 19/05/2021 18:01

I have long dark hair that literally sheds and appears everywhere. It wouldn't surprise me if mine turned up in random people's houses!

SoddingWeddings · 19/05/2021 18:03

Fuck my life, people really do overthink sometimes. I have long ginger hair, I'm sure my DH will have deposited some of my hairs at his work / wherever he goes, just as I find plenty of black hairs in my car, on my work chair etc that I've taken with me from him.

HollowTalk · 19/05/2021 18:13

Has he got previous, OP?

AnaViaSalamanca · 19/05/2021 18:19

It's quite common for OWs to tape a strand of their hair to the toilet seat to mark their territory. Beware.

MoonshineTuttiFrutti · 19/05/2021 18:57

God how STRANGE! Hmm I wonder what on earth it could be? Hmm. Oh... Erm... Hmmm. Wow...Maybe... Or...?

I'd put money on it that it's your hair.

Aliceinunderland · 19/05/2021 19:06

Well to be fair, when my ex husband was cheating I found hairs that definitely weren't mine in our house. I didn't say anything and dismissed it but found out later that yes, he'd had the OW round whilst I was working and he was looking after out son. I wouldn't say anything in your case but be alert. If there are no other signs then it's probably nothing.

Twinkie01 · 19/05/2021 19:10

I'd think the OW wanted their relationship to become no longer a secret and left it there on purpose.

Bellyups · 19/05/2021 19:12

I found a hair the opposite colour of mine at home, and sure enough, it was the OW.
People will obviously say your friend is jumping to conclusions and paranoid...but I’m just telling you my experience

FlossieTeacakesFurCoat18 · 19/05/2021 19:17

I'd be fitting cctv by the front door for "security" and forgetting to tell him...

Aquamarine1029 · 19/05/2021 19:21

I'd be suspicious.

howsoonisnow85 · 19/05/2021 19:26

Yeah I think I would be abit suspicious too

Imjustsootired · 19/05/2021 19:29

People can take the piss all they like OP but i get it. I clean my bathroom like a freak! Twice a day at least and if I found a long dark hair in my house full of short haired, blonde people...I would wonder too.

Blankspace101 · 19/05/2021 19:33

I’d hire someone to follow for a couple of months him to check he’s not an affair. Get access to his phone and make sure there are no unusual phone calls. Check his internet history too. If you don’t find any evidence of an affair LTB anyway. You can’t be too careful these days.

SummerHouse · 19/05/2021 19:34

I think it's a possibility but there are other possibilities. If she confronts him he is either innocent and offended or guilty and likely to lie. We need more op!

SummerHouse · 19/05/2021 19:39

Oh, I have it! Tell her to ask if anyone came round. He will ask why. She can say "mud on the carpet / smell of other person / baby told her" or something. Guage response.

genuine question people do this? how?!

Yellowcrockpot · 19/05/2021 19:42

Has he got previous for this kind of thing?
I shed like a dog. Wouldn't be surprised if some of my colleagues had gone home with my hair on them Grin

SummerHouse · 19/05/2021 19:59

This reminds me of the time my DSs had a fight in the back of the car over a strand of my hair.

Sorry, off topic but linked.

Jesskir89 · 19/05/2021 23:39

I got dumped randomly, went to get my things and there was a red hair on the bed. He admitted it straight away!

JesusIsAnyNameFree · 20/05/2021 01:11

I don't think anyone should be jumping to conclusions here. My long dark hair ended up on a man in a completely different country. Transferred from husband who had flown in that day. He was so happy husband saw the hair on him. He said his blonde wife would have gone mental had he come home with it Grin
