Stopping ex contacting me

Can I get a non molestation order against my ex to stop him contacting me or coming to my house? How do they work? Do I need to go to court, and what evidence is needed? Any help appreciated I’ve had a look online but not sure how they work.

@happycat1212 I'm a fella who had a past r/o against me, unless you can prove harassment or assualt against him it maybe difficult for you, anymore than 3 unwanted contacts in 24 hours can be deemed as harassment or if you can prove stalking,? I.e. have you / your nbours saw him lurking near your home.. and willing to support you,? If you have past police involvement against him this will also strengthen your case to file at a court ( likely to be magistrates court, hope that helps,?

You can get a non molestation order. I went to the police last year with this issue (phoned 101 first for advice) and showed them his emails and they said they could arrest him. The evidence I took was emails. It's taken very seriously and a new Domestic Violence bill has been passed this April which recognises post separation abuse. It is not acceptable and you have the right to live without fear of harassment and intimidation.
