My supposedly GF broke up with me

I met this girl on a dating app 5 months ago and have been seeing her ever since. From the very start of seeing each other, we wanted the same things and it seemed a very good match.

She has a pastlike everyone does, where she was married and had an affair as the marriage was rocky and eventually broke down. Hewas severely depressed and ended his life nearly2 years ago. This has obviously effected her in some way since.

She has dated in between before she met me where they have only lasted a few monthsand then turned out not to be successful. With her saying guys would go distant on her and end things.

Whilst dating her, she would get calls andtexts from a guy she used to date and I never really thought anything more of it. She mentioned him once that they remained friends due to him being there for her when her late husband passed.

Until recently, she had became distant from me which was out the blue. Ithought we was going and at reasonable pace and never thought there was any concerting issues with us.

She now wants to break thingsoff with me, as she says shecannot commit. As you can imagine I’m pretty disheartened of what’s happened but I respected her wishes.

We had planned a weekend away a few months ago which has been paid for. I am not sure what’s going on with that and no doubt I’ve lost my money and she will either go on her own or take someone else.

Do you think she was ever interested in me or was I just someone there to keep her company?

It sounds like you are better off out of the relationship as she still has some things to work through.

Re. the trip. As you paid for it, can you contact her and ask for her to send you the details so you can go instead?

BlueVelvetStars · 09/05/2021 03:24

You paid for that Trip, you go and enjoy yourself.

Block her.

ItsNotLoveActually · 09/05/2021 06:27

Sounds like she has a lot of unresolved issues and probably didn't lead you on deliberately but unfortunately that's how it's ended up. Seeing as you've paid for the trip, can't you still go on your own? Did you book it or her?

JustAnotherOldMan · 09/05/2021 07:45

She’s got other issues going on, not worth worrying about, cancel your trip get the money back or just go yourself

I think you’ll realise in time you had a lucky escape!
