Recommendations for honest, impactful divorce lawyer - to get away from dishonest coercive man

Hello all

I am desperately looking for any recommendations for an honest and impactful divorce lawyer. I have gone part of the way through the financial declaration. But I have found my lawyers to not be addressing alot of the coercive and financial control my husband has constantly been putting on me.
It feels as though its going to still be a long journey and I am going to need lawyers that want to fight for me but not just looking to increase their bill.

Any recommendations would be be greatly appreciated.

@KatieLondon22 What area of the country are you in? I'm South East and could recommend someone. I haven't used her myself but am aware that she has clients in difficult situations and gets very passionate in making sure she fights for them.

Where abouts are you op? Im midlands & can recomend the solicitor & barrister i used.

@stealthynamechange @reasonablyunreasonable
thank you for both responses. I am based in London but apparently it doesn't matter what part of the country one is in as a solicitor can act or advise from wherever they are. So it would be good to have both recommendations if that's ok.

Did you see this thread OP? A London recommendation in there.

My recommendation is Holly Chandler of Cornfield Law. She gives an initial conversation free of charge.

Hope you manage to get things sorted and move on to better things x

Makes sense! Especially with the times we are in! My solicitor was Catherine Edmundson www.family-lawfirm.co.uk/solicitors/catherine-edmondson-family-law-solicitor/
Barrister used was lawren dobson www.stiveschambers.co.uk/barristers/lawren-dobson/ they were both brilliant dealing with my controlling ex h, especially lawren who worked so hard on court order for dc, she really fought for us.
Best of luck Flowers

@stealthynamechange - I had been advised to use someone else at the same firm as Catherine Edmondson so that's interesting its come up again. Do you have time for a phone chat at all. What is DC? many thanks. Kate. I will probably be making a decision today so its quite urgent.

Hi, ooh that sounds like a sign then!
I found her honest, straight to the point, very quick to respond to my questions. Pricing was clear. I felt like I was a priority, if that makes sense? Used her for divorce, finances & child arrangements. Im really sorry Im unable to talk on the phone today, (btw dc is child).

I think trust your instincts its a lot of money to spend & you have to be happy with the service you receive x

I found Vardags to be excellent with these issues, very well versed in handling abusive types without getting drawn into it.
