I'm 20 weeks pregnant, my boyfriend just doesn't want to have sex he said because it doesn't seem right whilst pregnant.
Anyone else been through this ?? Because it's causing so much arguments

When one half of the couple doesn’t want to have sex, you don’t have sex.

But maybe try asking him exactly what is concerning him, many men think that they might be able to feel/harm the baby etc and that puts them off sex.

Guavaf1sh · 14/04/2021 22:12

Yeah it’s not that unusual

Is he comfortable with non penetrative sex? (You don't need to answer that just something to think about).

Orgasm and sex are actually healthy during pregnancy, increase blood flow to the area (good for baby) and can help tone the nearby muscles (again good for baby and your pelvic floor). There's a lot of good research out there if that would convince him.

I'd maybe point out that you may not feel inclined for sometime afterwards. I've had 3 DC, 2 vaginal births (no injuries) and a cesarean: it was 6 weeks post birth after 2 DC and 3 weeks after the other. Many women are uncomfortable for much longer after.

If he doesn’t want to have sex you can’t force him to.
But as PP points out, he could be in for a long wait !

LionelMessy · 14/04/2021 23:32

He may be more willing if you on top.
He maybe concerned he'll harm the baby

Thank God my son's dad was not like this as I was more rampant than ever when pregnant. Had a go night before due date as heard it could help things along - well, it started the day after, but was a long labour so he arrived the day after that. Actually finding comfortable positions the bigger I got added a fun element to it Grin

Some men go off sex during pregnancy and some women go off sex during pregnancy it's just how it is. I'm currently 30 weeks pregnant and have no interest whatsoever (I was the same last pregnancy) my husband happily would but wouldn't dream of arguing with me about our current lack of sex life and if he did I'd be really upset, annoyed, disappointed and I'd lose respect for him for being unable to respect my choices about my body. In a long term committed relationship pregnancy and the pp period is such a short period of time and my husband knows I'll get my mojo back after baby arrives, we're still affectionate and loving towards each other and my husband knows it's not personal.

My XH didn't want sex while I was pregnant - worried about harming the baby, plus I think he didn't fancy me as much as he was very much into a slim shape

I felt sexier than ever Sad
