Shouting and swearing during argument?

Me and my DP had an argument over something silly yesterday (he had had a drink, I had not for context) it got heated and we both shouted and swore at each other and generally not being very nice.

However, in the heat of the moment he called me an ugly cunt. Cunt I can move on from but “ugly cunt” just feels so much worse to me. Both as bad as each other for swearing or is saying ugly crossing a line?!

I do realise we are both childish to be shouting and swearing.

You were both behaving badly and he upped the ante to “win”.

I’m not sure it helps to say he’s a worse person than you. You might want consider that you don’t bring out the best in each other and this isn’t a great relationship.
