Do you find it easier to communicate and pass the time of day doing this rather than picking up the phone and talking to a friend (if you have a spare half hour of an evening?)

I find the time passes so quickly whilst I am on the PC and feel it is easier to do this rather than a good old fashioned one-to-one.......am I hiding behind my own persona yet still having friends to hang out with?

I know Facebook is made up of your own chosen friends whereas some other sites (including this one) are truly anonymous.

Thoughts?

hi webchick, it depends on my mood. Right now, I'm hungover & tired so I'm much happier sitting in bed with the laptop and browsing MN! But other times, I just really fancy a chat!

I do think this is easier though and in some ways that is a shame as I like a good natter and gossip, doesn't have quite the same effect here sometimes
