Hello everyone

I'm looking for some advice regarding online dating.

I met someone 7 weeks ago (from a dating website) And we speak every day and stay at each others place 2/3 times a week.

I still go on my dating profile as I get messages and I find some messages funny so look through them. He also still uses his profile, he said he just goes on to waste time. However, I noticied a few nights ago that he has changed his picture and has updated his bio saying he is seeking someone. I'm a big hurt by this but have asked many times if we are meeting other people and he says no, he says he will chat back but that's as far as it goes.

I also done the absolutely stupid thing of checking his phone last week when he went to the shops. I checked this online app and the last message was from weeks ago so he isn't sitting chatting to other people. He also buys me gifts and also compliments me.

I don't know if I should cool it off or ask him about this. I don't want to look overly keen but then again, it's been 7 weeks not 7 days.

What do you think?

@AnnaBoo1 I honestly don't know what the answer is but unfortunately I don't think it's uncommon with OLD....not in my experience anyway!!

I've been here myself many times and never feel comfortable dating someone who is still interested in dating others. I think I'm too old fashioned for OLD!

I'd say he's not technically doing anything wrong but if it was me I would hate it.

Not really got any advice and there is not right but just wanted to say I know how you feel and it sucks!!

7 weeks in and you already feel inclined to check his phone. It's not great is it?
Have the conversation. Are we exclusive?
Do you trust him? Go from there. As obviously if the answer is no then this is a complete nonstarter for you.

He said he doesn't want to meet up with anyone else and the lack of phone messages would back this up. However, why update his profile and pictures?

If you still have your profile up then he's entitled to still have his up. You need to have the talk about being exclusive and both suspending your accounts. After seven weeks you should have a good idea if you want to take it further.

So you've had around 21 dates and both still looking out for better offers online? Wow, online dating is savage.

Ok that aside, you're on it, he's on it...why don't you both have a grown-up conversation and see if it's time to stop hedging your bets?

I'd say staying at each others houses 2/3 times a week after only 7 weeks dating is moving very fast and a bit full on at that stage, but maybe that's just me. However, combine that with gifts and complements and you likely have a love-bomber. Beware of those, not trustworthy, all that attention might seem just sweet, but it's actually fake and he may well scarlet in the not too distant future.

I think you both need to 'suspend' or delete your accounts indefinitely. Give your relationship a chance to flourish. It certainly won't whilst your both possibly looking for something better.

you could both put a line on your profile saying you’re dating someone so seeing how that goes

but are interested in friends and chat.
