Dh & I have been invited to a party in Paris. We'd only be going for the night so no musées, shopping, people-watching, etc. Usually I'd go anyway but dh & I are going through a bad patch in our marriage & ds(4) is having trouble with nightmares & behavior (he hit his teacher today. I've also heard that massive transport strikes are predicted. I don't want to go, in case you haven't already guessed, but am I making a mistake?

Yes. Go. Go together and enjoy the time you have together.

Am going to florence with dh tonight for 2 nights , all paid for by my company and first time i am leaving ds 3 with gps. Must admit I feel a bit guilty leaving him - what is it with a mothers guilt? On the other hand can't wait. Even the thought of waiting in the departure lounge with a magazine and travelling light seems like a huge treat..so go for it.

ds had me up most of last night so the thought of uninterrupted sleep is too good to miss.. i am sure florence is lovely but it good be anywhere to be honest, its the chance for a break yipeee.

These opportunites dont come along every day so I would go for it

Thank you both for your advice. I felt quite desperate when no-one answered. I've decided to go, what the heck!

Have a lovely time!

How was the trip?

It's next weekend & now it looks like we might be driving because of the wretched french & their equally wretched passion for strikes. Driving - ha! More like spending hours & hours in traffic.

Maybe I will stay home afterall.[pout]
