Bray & Bray have offices in Leicester, Hinckley and Market Harborough. Good Matrimonial Dept. Good luck

NoMackerelInSwindon · 12/03/2021 15:20

Yes, I was going to say Bray & Bray. A number of clients in the East Midlands use them and seem happy.

crunchiebabe · 23/04/2021 12:27

Soopermum1 · 23/04/2021 12:38

Thanks @crunchiebabe. Will def need a great barrister for finances and possibly child contact order. Does she practice all over London? (My hearings are in West London)

crunchiebabe · 23/04/2021 12:41

Hi!
Yes she does. She is amazing , extremely good at what she does and very amiable.

KatieLondon22 · 04/05/2021 18:17

@crunchiebabe - I'm also looking for a good lawyer. My husband also trying to run off with everything. Can I ask in what way you felt Maria Scotland was a good barrister.
Many thanks
Kate

crunchiebabe · 04/05/2021 18:55

Hi!
I had a husband who was hell bent on his unreasonable demands, he used an aggressive barrister in an attempt to bully me into submission. Maria dealt with her so well, no aggression, she kept cool and successfully fought for me to get me what I wanted. I felt she was totally on side and always explained things through giving me realistic possible outcomes and then leaving the decisions to me.

Hi, I am looking for a divorce lawyer in west London. My husband is a narcissist so it is going to be a catfight. Does anyone have any advice on what I should prepare ahead of filing so I am in the best position when it comes to it. He is a born pitbull, help!!

redastherose · 01/06/2021 00:18

Can't advise on a London divorce solicitor/barrister but I've just divorced a narcissist and it's very difficult. Just be prepared for lots of lies in correspondence and court papers as they have no concept of the truth being anything other than they say it is. Make sure you've for as much detail as you can about pensions, investments, and other assets. It took me the best part of 5 years but it's worth it.

Barbs83 · 01/06/2021 05:13

And who was your solicitor? I have just been informed that every call and every chat has been recording and my ex is trying to present me as psycho bitch ...

OP posts:
TeddingtonTrashbag · 01/06/2021 05:34

Surely it is unlawful to record someone without their permission ? I can’t see that going down well with the judge...
So sorry you ate going through this.
Thank you so much for starting the thread.
I am in West London, steeling myself yo take the plunge and terrified and worried about how on earth to find a lawyer who will be s match for what he will throw in.

Flip2021 · 01/06/2021 12:39

@redastherose I hear you, I cannot believe the lies he makes up, he has no moral compass and I just can't sink to his level which is why I need my solicitor to do it for me. I

Flip2021 · 01/06/2021 12:42

@TeddingtonTrashbag If I am successful in finding a good lawyer, I will let you know.

I do record him ranting- is this not legal? I wasn't intending to use it in court.

Barbs83 · 01/06/2021 13:59

I know, I have never been scared, frustrated and so stressed in my life. Good luck to you and big shout out to all ladies, who are now happily divorced. Hope we are going to be one of them soon x

Unfortunately, a lot of women face this problem when it comes to divorce. Many men want to cut them out financially regardless of children and all those years they spent together. I never understood that. My sister has recently gone through a divorce. She addressed lawyersuae, so they consulted her and read all the necessary documents. Maybe this info will be useful for you. Anyway, I wish you good luck.

JojoAbes · 22/07/2021 15:46

You should always, much as a hairdresser or gynaecologist, go on recommendation. I am one and have never advertised. You should expect at your first meeting an idea of the parameters of settlement, an explanation of the divorce process itself and advice on the children. Make notes beforehand so you don't end and kick yourself for not asking. Have someone with you in case your mind goes blank and- go on your instinct- you need to know your solicitor has your back
