Birthday/date ideas in Lockdown

Yellowfish2020 · 27/02/2021 21:45

It's my partners birthday in a couple of weeks and I really want to plan something great as he always puts in HUGE effort into doing thoughtful things for mine.
It's not about gifts - it's about finding special things to do together on the day (within guidelines)
I've got a nice meal planned that I'll make with the kids in the evening, but what other ideas/experiences have people had whilst in lockdown for fun birthdays or dates? Any suggestions?

Dp and I don't live together and have to SD when out for a walk but on my birthday we went to the grounds of a local NT place for a walk and then had a picnic out of the boot of the car. He'd prepped it all, lovely M&S food, flowers and presents etc. It was January and v cold but it was incredibly sweet being handed a picnic plate of my favourite picky bits and a coffee with my favourite syrup in.

My friend proposed to his girlfriend doing a treasure trail round the house with clues... Something like that?

Both really lovely ideas! Thank you!
Can't imagine how tough it must be in lockdown without living with your partner! But because we have literally spent everyday together for the last year, finding a way to make the day different is tough!
Thanks for the suggestions - I might even do both :)

Hope it goes well. Yeah it's not been the best year.. But on the whole I prefer 'living apart together' than cohabiting.

Cocktail night? Me and my partner did this and it was fun. We put loads of effort into making them properly and getting them to look nice.

He also had fun trying some of the more "girly" ones he would never think to order while in a bar 😂

Oh yes, this is VERY us. Gutted that I probably can't afford to do this properly (moving house, things are tight Hmm)as it's RIGHT up our street and a FAB idea.
