I suppose it's not a great time atm because of Lock down but have you thought about joining something like a walking group or running group or taking up some sort of hobby?

isitsafetocomeoutyet · 18/02/2021 15:53

If it helps I think a lot of people are feeling the same way. Lockdown is so hard. Thanks

Second the hobby idea. Is there anything you like to do (or have always wanted to try?) there are some great stitch/crochet places near me that do online things too.

But don't beat yourself up over it. It's not easy.

Lovemakesworldgoround · 18/02/2021 16:49

Even before lockdown I had none . I just wish I had a couple I could chat with or facetime even .

Its hard being adult with no1 to talk to about every day life

No I don't have confidence at moment to join a hobby . Just lately I feel like no1 likes me anyway so that making it worse .

I know what you mean. I wish I had a group I could just chill with, without having to get massively involved in each other’s lives etc, but just a group of nice people that I could chat to in the park and in the pub when we’re allowed. I have quite a lot of individual friends, but it takes a lot of effort to meet up and stay in touch (and they all have their local little groups/families who come first).

Someone i know mentioned they was doing zoom with there mates n having cocktails. I see people playing games over facetime. I would love anything like that 😪 just interaction off some mates would be nice .

What people say and reality are different things.
Would you really want to be knocking back highly alcoholic drinks over zoom with others? Would you want the hangover the next day?

If you would, ask if you can join in next time.

AhFiddledeedee · 18/02/2021 18:30

I know how you feel, I have a few friends but I'm not the go-to friend for anyone.

I've tried to make new friends, but I fund it really hard to gel.with people and I'm really crap at small talk. So unless I find someone with mutual interests, I really struggle.

But even then, no one is in the market for a new friends as at my age everyone already seems to have an established friend group.

Join local groups online, volunteer for things that can be socially distant. Live your life. Go for a walk or run.

You may make friends, you might not. Life can surprise you and you might meet one person and find it opens a network.

I’m in exactly the same boat. I have one friend. I’ve no idea how to make more. I’ve trued. Evening classes, hobbies etc. Everyone already has their “tribe”. I’d be up for chatting if you want to message me OP

Sssloou · 18/02/2021 19:05

Don’t try to make friends.

Just aim to make simple frequent connections and acquaintances through dog walking, volunteering, hobbies etc.

From that friendships evolve.
