What do I need to ask for?

Relationship with DH is dead in the water. Emotional abuse and control. I'm at absolute rock bottom. I'm also peri menopausal. He refuses to go to counselling. I am lining up ducks and am lining up solicitor. I need to see GP in the morning for medical help due to feelings of absolute helplessness because of all this.

When I phone for an appointment, he will hear what I'm saying. What can I say to GP receptionist to get a same day appointment which will (a) emphasise importance of seeing someone urgently (and possibly that it relates to relationship difficulties) and (b) not signal to DH that I'm seeking outside medical help?

Can you get yourself to a Boots store? If you can, ask for "Ani". You'll get taken to their consultation room, it's a safe space you can call from there.

Was going to suggest when he has a shower or when you go out for a walk, or go to the shops. The Boots idea is also good if you are near one.

OP, did you manage to make your appointment?

If you did not, could you request an appointment by email? Put FAO your Dr in subject line and outline what you need in the email?
