Your partner keeps saying that? If so you need to contact a domestic abuse service and plan an escape.

People don’t say things like that in healthy safe relationships.

No its a screwed up relationship. Totally dependent on him. Hate my life. Often think about killing myself but don't want to leave kids with him. He works in addiction but drinks a litre gin a day and smokes 20. Previous crack heroin usage. Hes a joke!

Ok for a start you're not 'dependent' on him. You can live a life without him. He wants you to think you are. That's how he keeps you trapped. You say you would kill yourself but don't want to leave your kids with him yet you expose your kids to him by staying. Please call women's aid and leave. Put your children first.
