Me and DH married in lockdown last year and are planning a reception for this year when it's safe. What are your favourite songs to dance to? We've already got the family party classic- come on Eileen 😂

Don't Marry Her

So my advice is - have a barn dance. They are really fun.

I went to a party where the DJ streamed the tracks and played requests. It was great.

Some Madness
YMCA

Pump up the champ

Groove is in the Heart

Some 60s e.g. Locomotion
Twist & Shout

Oh for heavens sake if you don't believe in the 'banality and insincerity' of marriage don't comment on a thread regarding weddings and marriage 😒

I on the other hand will be saving some of these suggestions for when we can book our day! Some great ideas on here 🙂
@tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz This is the problem! It generally caters for the musically illiterate, and nothing with any true meaning is played. Wedding music reflects the banality and insincerity of the whole occasion.
How old are you/most of the guests? We partied all night at our wedding so happy to share some of it

Silverthorny · 15/02/2021 19:59

I’d rather eat my own eyeballs than listen to YMCA.

woodhill · 15/02/2021 20:04

Aren't you a cheerful soul Smile

Me thinks Silver doth protest too much!

We invited the guests to put their favourite song on their RSVP. It was a very eclectic list! Some of the songs requested by the older guests weren't really suitable for the disco so we played them as background music during the meal.
