Problems for the golden child within a family

I admit that until quite recently I didn't realise there were any attendant problems with being the golden child in a family (I most definitely am not btw!)

But I have come to realise that one of my siblings is a golden child and their many mental health difficulties may have some root there.

I'd like to read up more on this family dynamic but everywhere I look on the internet it seems to only be articles on golden children and their narcissist parent(s), but I think narcissist is one of the most over "diagnosed" conditions made by amateur psychologists. Narcissism is rare and I don't like the way it is used as an inaccurate shorthand for something else, probably narc tendencies.

Anyway, surely it must be possible to have golden children in non-narc families? Where would I read about that?

Also, any thoughts on being the golden child. How can you heal yourself if damage has been caused to you by this?
