Marital home on divorce

A friend of mine is faced the situation below;
Married over 10 years, have a child. They moved out from their marital home and rented a bit far(different city) for fresh start a year ago. The marital home was inherited before marriage. and put joint name a year ago without husband’s consent- I don’t know how did it). The marital home is now rented out to someone. And now they are divorcing. Husband has a good job and wife is self-employed and getting UC.
Will the marital home still be included in the finance?

It should be, yes.

Length of marriage is looked at but ten years is not a short relationship.

The fact that it was only in the husband’s name for a long time is irrelevant, it is still a marital asset.

Nothing gained by putting her name on as already married, but committing fraud could go against her and land her in hot water if her ex can prove it.

Your post is not that clear but the only way his soon to be Ex could have added their name to the deeds without consent, would be fraudulently. In addition, the recipient of UC would have had to declare the home if they had a financial interest in it.

Your friend needs to get legal advice.
