Feel so awkward on Facetime

I really do not like Facetime at all. But it's how people communicate now. I literally feel and look awkward as heck. I lack confidence using it. When my husband facetimes his family i literally run into the shower or go upstairs to do something. Think theyv given up on me they dont even ask if im there. That in itself makes me feel like rubbish! But yes I really dont know if I should just accept i dont like facetime and not give a damn. Iv tried it because it comes across as really rude if i just blank them and it made me feel awful. Can anyone help? Is this normal? Does it really matter???

I'm even more fussy if that makes you feel any better, I hate FaceTime, zoom, only do zoom if I'm forced to in a work situation even then I mute my video, don't like voice notes, can't be bothered to listen... on the phone, I don't want to spend best part of an hour with the phone to my ear...
I'll message or do a social distance walk though Smile
