A new thread, so we can continue discussing the depressing reality of the above!

Hi all, I’ve been reading through this post and been nosing at the updates. I didn’t have much to contribute before aside from many ghosting stories!

However I matched with a guy on Bumble on Monday, came across chatty and funny. Spoke on the phone that day and met up the next day for an afternoon walk.

We’ve been in contact everyday since and planning to meet next week (he’s currently away with work) so keeping my fingers crossed. I’ve been single a long time so it’s a nice feeling to be liked but will just see how it goes :)

Hi all, just reading through the thread. I started online dating 3 weeks ago after being happily single for 4 years. Ive been feeling a bit lonely with this lockdown. Ive had some conversations but a lot fade away because of nothing in common. I'm glad to hear I'm not alone in thatSmile

Shayelle2009 · 07/02/2021 13:40

Well done for being brave Angel and videoing him! At least you without weeks of chatting and building some false image in your head. Plus its a nice confidence boost that theres guys out there interested and who will make effort... just got to find one where its mutual now!
Thanks yeah i wouldnt make a big deal of it but id want to be sure that there was genuine interest in me as an individual if you know what i mean though hes a catch and im pretty sure a lot of women would like him (me included haha)... just feel sad it wasnt me he made the efforts with back then, but i know life changes and people can start seeing things differently over time. We shall see!!

@Shayelle2009 I'm okay, I went on the pill 3 weeks ago, it didn't agree with me and I had a meltdown last week, went completely paranoid, depressed and my anxiety went through the roof(I was in Tesco, almost burst into tears as I couldn't find the stuffing, felt a panic attack coming, then just wanted to run out and escape), so I'm taking a break from OLD and getting back into exercise to try and get my old self back. Computer Geek hasn't been in touch but then on the plus side he hasn't read my paranoid pyscho bitch from hell messages yet either.

(I really need to stop closing my account when I take breaks too).

@Angelofdeath nothing was ever confirmed and as I haven't been myself it was probably a good thing too as it wouldn't have been the best me he saw. I'm starting to feel better although I'm still very emotional but the paranoia is almost gone and the lack of energy and tiredness has gone. I nearly snapped at my best friend for telling me to schedule exercise into my day last week (she was only trying to be helpful but I took it the wrong way).

@Angelofdeath yes off completely now, I even told the nurse when she prescribed them what didn't work for me last time (I've tried so many over the years)all she did was prescribed me the same ones under a different name (I googled them and found out they were the same just cheaper) and told me to give them ago. I did a deck of cards workout today (Computer Geek told me about it) and feel much better it was definitely needed even if it was hard work. Now just sat playing cards and watching dancing on ice (failing miserable at the cards too Grin).

Shayelle2009 · 07/02/2021 19:53

Hey @Isitreally7777, oh you poor thing Flowers thats really horrible about the pill and honestly those things make me like that too, i cant have them they just turn me into a headcase its AWFUL! Im glad that you feel a lil calmer now, and brilliant youre getting the exercise back in. Im a bit fanatical about exercise because its so good for my mental health, i do a 30min hiit every morning before i start work, try and get 10k steps in a day and often go for a run after work. Start feeling very negative without it so i hear you on the exercise. Glad youre ok Smile

Shayelle2009 · 07/02/2021 19:56

@Angelofdeath hope it gave you a little confidence boost, and the good thing is you can chat to him but maybe someone youre more into will come along too Grin

Shayelle2009 · 07/02/2021 19:58

And yeah @Angelofdeath im glad ive had a few days thinking time so I dont go off at the deep end 😂 i can be all calm and mature!!! Grin (haha yeah right!!)

I know what you mean about the ‘what do i say now’... its probably just a sign of the times more than anything else isnt it. Ive been busy today decorating - yet again!! Its all there is to do!!!!

Shayelle2009 · 07/02/2021 20:13

Who wants calm and nature anyway Grin i think cheeky is a lot more fun!!!

Shayelle2009 · 07/02/2021 20:14

Whoops.... mature, not nature!! I love nature, mature we wont bother withGrin

Isitreally7777 · 07/02/2021 21:21

@Angelofdeath I was actually playing solitaire it was quite nice and chilled, the cat was watching me intently. I just don't understand why the nurse didn't listen to me. I couldn't do the 3 months she said I should, I would have lost the plot and all my friends by then (as it is I've probably completely blown it with Computer Geek if he ever gets back to me).

@Shayelle2009 I was in the gym 6/7 times a week before lockdown and have really struggled but I couldn't even bring myself to go for a walk the past few weeks.

I'm finding that too, once you've got past the potted history there's little to talk about as no one's doing anything much.

I came off the site but have now gone back on due to boredom 😆 I'm being super picky though, can't be bothered to waste my or their time. Nothing at the moment since I changed my mind about the last one.

My cat has got really into wildlife programmes recently, doesnt ever take any notice of the tv usually but when theres a wildlife programme on she sits right up and stares at it intently! So cute!
Happy Monday everyone!

Shayelle2009 · 08/02/2021 08:12

I quite like that name of paint @Angelofdeath I think it would be a very calming colour haha!!
