Tell me a time when your gut told you some thing was "off"... but you had no proof - and yet your gut was right all along!!

@IJustWantSomeBees

I had exactly the same feeling as you about the guy who broke my heart last year. All my instincts told me not to meet up with him as I was sure he would play me we met online dating. He managed to convince me otherwise but sure enough he messed with my head for 6 months. I wish I had never met him as he broke me and next time I won't ignore that warning feeling.

I always ignore my gut. And I’ve been fooled over and o er again.
The worst time was the last time and I’ll never ever ignore it again.
It was my DC’s doctor (I’ve posted about it before).
I’d the feeling he was making smarmy comments but wasn’t sure. I ignored several major red flags (he was JUST a doctor who was funny etc not someone I knew personally)... eg taking a picture of me when we once met him on a train, other things that seem so obvious. I always thought he was gay (he is) and full of ego (he is) but he went on to assault me out of the blue. And I felt such utter shame about ignoring all the signs he was a cunt (because he was an NHS “hero”). I’m pretty bitter about it

Told not to worry about that girl.

Broke up. He got with that girl.

Turns out he had been cheating for months 😁

I went away for a few days with friends, husband didn't want to take time off work. I had an inkling something was off, three weeks later he left and moved in with another woman.

Also when a new guy appeared in my friendship group I took a strong dislike to him but couldn't really give a firm reason as to why. He turned out to be a paedophile.

I was asked on a date by an old work colleague. I immediately said no and the reason was that I thought he seemed a little odd... partly because he was on the autistic side perhaps, seemed unrelatable somehow. Very black and white, a little tedious, too self absorbed and insincere in his niceties towards me. A bit of a lazy arse at work, but did enough to make himself look busy. Always up to something to get out of working hard, or making himself look good when actually he'd cheated the system.

I was however won over by him eventually as he was so very nice to me, generous, interested, polite and respectful. I dated him for a while and thought my initial gut feeling about him had been all wrong.

Then we got married and had children.

It turns out my initial gut feeling about him was right.

Harmless text on DPs phone.
Picture of a girl (harmless again) received before we were dating.

Alarm bells were chiming. Couldn't ignore them.

Went through his phone, called the woman.

Turns out I was initially the OW, he dumped her for me (unbeknownst to either of us) and then cheated on me with her on a few occasions!

Men, eh?

My ex partner blocked someone on Facebook and mentioned she kept messaging him and wouldn’t leave him alone, I felt a bit iffy about it. A couple of days later a lot of messages kept coming through on his phone and he’d changed his passcode so I couldn’t see. 2 days after that he declared he was going to pay extra for his contract upgrade to come early and he disposed of this phone in a hidden bag upstairs. I felt very off about it so I checked his hidden phone and saw that he’d wiped it completely clean! What he didn’t realise was accessed his WhatsApp and although no messages he had some numbers blocked. I instantly picked one out that I felt so off about, done some digging and found it to be her phone number. I confronted him he said she was messaging for his mate and kept trying to get him to deliver messages for her etc so I asked her and she told me straight. He gave her a load of bollox about me and him not being together (we had been for 6 years) and they’d had sex once and he tried to fuck her off after. I fucked him off very quickly!
