I'm 18 months post split and the guilt eases when you realise it was the right choice for you Smile

Lockdownisshit · 20/01/2021 13:21

Also 18 months post and honestly happier than I've ever been, DS is also settling well. We have just introduced the idea of ExP's girlfriend (DS is 7) and he seems quite happy with the idea. We are both dating.

Honestly OP, it's overwhelming but it will be a huge sigh of relief and once you realise how much happier your home is without him, you won't feel guilty about it. Promise!

Thank you @pixiecircles

You know its the right decision so don't let the guilt sway you. You won't have come to this decision easily I wouldn't imagine so trust yourself and it does get easier. Kids are very resilient.

@Doddlebug2000 stupidly enough its not the kids im worrying about its him
Even tho he’s a twat

Hi no as days turned into weeks n then months it just seemed pointless tbh, A explanation / reasons would have been nice tho,!!!

Tensions in the home make for a toxic environment so staying together wasn't right for my family. I'm much happier, the home us much more relaxed and exH has seduced someone else into caring for a great big man child. There are some tensions occasionally but nothing like there were when he lived here. There are always reasons for women to feel guilty, we're socialised to subjugate our own needs in favour of men. Do what you feel in your gut and make sure you don't turn into a twat in the process if the divorce gets stressful. Grin You will come through that bit and prosper. Good luckFlowers

Lockdownisshit · 23/01/2021 11:22

Thanks
Although we’re not married

He'll be fine. Yes, it'll hurt and be a difficult time during the split, but ultimately it's better for him to have the opportunity to be a twat with another woman who loves him, than to stick out a relationship with a woman who doesn't.

Itstimetoquit · 23/01/2021 13:09

There is no point staying! Sit him down and tell him, hope your ok x

Two years since I booted my ex out the door. Best thing I did for me and our children as they only have to be exposed to him and his nightmare family 2/14 days. Covid has shown me how awful it would have been if we had stayed. No escape from each other except work (me, he's furloughed) and he would have done fuck all every day except what suited him. I'd have probably ended up in prison! Children need love, stability and happy parents. Many are much more loving, stable and happier apart.
Also, I'm so bloody glad I never married him! I get to keep all my hard earned pension while he has a couple of pockets of auto enrolment worth about £1000 a year as he refused to sort one out.
