My family expect me to travel to see them on Boxing Day and leave on the 28th, when I could quite easily risk a fine crossing the council borders. Obviously I've said no, and now they are furious because I won't risk getting in trouble to see them.
We can't go down for one night as my partner is working until 10pm on the 27th, so we'd have to leave late at night. I proposed they travel here but they can't be bothered... yet they're furious we won't make the same trip
I have to say, I'm secretly quite relieved to have a quiet Christmas with the in-laws instead. Anyone else facing backlash from family after refusing to break the rules?
