Good self help book to get over my lying cheat ex

What are the best set help books to read to get over a long term relationship ?

My ex of 16 years had an affair then started seeing her and then I foolishly took him back and now he’s said he actually doesn’t want to be with me and was just “trying” for “us” so I’ve had 4 months of his half hearted attempt at trying to get back together, constant hot and cold, telling me he is in love with me etc and now this. He thinks it best we don’t see each other except for the kids drop offs, why do I want to keep him in my life? It’s like I can’t let go that he’s no longer my person Sad

I think he’s back in touch with her and I really wish I could hate him but I just miss him so much and still just want to be around him and really cannot imagine my life without him in it!! We had kids so sadly I can’t go NC.

Any good books for getting over it please?

No idea about a self help book, but try a bit of Jilly Cooper 'The Man Who Made Husbands Jealous'

No specific book I can think of, but if I ever feel vaguely nostalgic or wistful I just read the mn relationship boards and thank my lucky stars that's all behind me.

I'm not being facetious.

Similar to above post, why not start a diary to help keep your head straight but also to read back. It helps me when I have a wobble.... 'Yup, he's still a dick!'.

The more I read MN the more I seem to just despise all men Grin

I really do need to start a diary, I keep putting it off but it does sound like a good idea thank you.

Why does he do that is a good book and there is another one called living with the dominator do the freedom program

Find someone else to do handover or handover from school/nursery i found it way easier to break from my ex when I wasn't seeing his mournful highly slapable face (not that I ever would slap him i just wanted to)
