How do I widen my social circle?

I have some old school friend connections on fbook, I comment on their posts. It would be so weird for me to suddenly say 'can we be friends and hang out' type of thing, would also look sad. But how do I reach out to these v lose connections?

Why did you lose contact after school originally? Are they all still friends? I guess it wouldn’t be weird to FB messenger some of them just saying it’s lovely to see how they’re all getting on via the powers of FB, are they still local etc. and if conversation flows maybe say it’d be really lovely once lockdown life has lifted to meet for a coffee and a catch up or a glass of wine etc. Sort of like you would dating!

I guess you could say it would be nice to meet up /catch up after lock down??
