Practical and financial information on leaving

I've decided after 25 years of marriage that I'm done. I have two children and work part time. We own our home with a relatively small mortgage.

The problem is, how do I support myself and my children? Honestly, I'd rather just move out, but need to stay in the area for my children. I have no savings, so can't just leave and rent and if we sold the house, I'd probably have about 100k in equity, which sounds quite good, but wouldn't get me far buying something else in the area without a big mortgage I couldn't afford....even with some child support (only for youngest..eldest is 18).

I feel like I'm in the financial middle ground...don't have enough to just go and support myself...would have too much to get any assistance. Could anyone provide any practical help with how they managed it financially? Thank you.

Have you sought legal advice on these points and divorce?. I would suggest you do this in the first instance particularly if you have not already done so.
