Is this rude?

Went on a first date with someone late last week and we have been messaging on and off since. THey leave long delays when replying (12 hours or so) but not too bothered and attributed it to work / life commitments. Have since asked me on second date so have picked day etc. But still leaving me unreplied to for 12/24 hours...

On one hand I assume they are interested as they are texting once a day, asking questions and asking to see me again. But dont like being left on read e.g. when I have asked a question...

Dont think they are attached to phone as no SM accounts etc so not a massive tech fan. But can see when they are active and still no reply.

Shall I just adapt same patterns?! Its annoying me unreasonably haha

Go on a second date and bring it up??

myshoelaces · 24/10/2020 23:03

It's rude and wouldn't fly with me. Id bring it up with him and if it didn't change then I'd stop replying altogether.

M0wgl1 · 24/10/2020 23:06

To be honest I dont really want to bring it up... I dont want to feel like someone is messaging me because they have to :s

I think I will just stop replying as frequently and match their frequency of response

Maybe they don't like chatting every day via text. I wouldn't. Especially with someone I've just had one date with.

I'd expect a midweek text exchange if there was a week between dates but that's about it.

His taking ages to reply may just be him trying to reset the pace.

Bunnymumy · 24/10/2020 23:21

Either that or he isn't feeling it.

M0wgl1 · 24/10/2020 23:30

@Bunnymumy I did wonder but he has been instigating it all tbh: asks questions, instigated 2nd date, asked when i was free, gave me options... I hardly think you would bother if you werent interested.

We are both single parents (shared custody) and both have intense day jobs.
