I didn't realise I'd have to start a new thread - it's amazing the amount of people that have offered advice / made me laugh, it's appreciated

It was the strangest thing! Yes Yeo Valley yoghurts and milk Confused

I've not been able to change the locks but I've double locked the door this afternoon, as he doesn't have a key for the bottom lock

I do however, have his bike at mine (which won't fit in my car, only his)

Take the rear wheel off ok so all the chain and gear sprocket come loose but he can sort it Grin

AcrossthePond55 · 16/10/2020 11:45

Can you borrow or rent a bike rack?

It'd be worth paying to rent one just to get it gone.

Daftapath · 16/10/2020 11:55

Or ask a friend with a larger car. I would happily do this for a friend in a similar position

Longdistance · 16/10/2020 12:10

Oh my days! He took the tokens? He really is like a vulture who circles to get the last of the meat off the bare bone.
Leave his stuff outside your house, agree a time. If he doesn’t pick it up, I’m sure some other vulture will come along.

AcrossthePond55 · 16/10/2020 16:59

I don't know about the UK but here in the US we can rent small 'cargo' vans for about USD $20/hr. + fuel.

You could load up the bin bags AND the bike and be done with it all.

AcrossthePond55 · 16/10/2020 16:59

IF you can rent by the hour in the UK, I should add.

MuthaHubbard · 16/10/2020 17:44

I'd reply something along the lines of 'oh sorry, I assumed you realised that I ended it after your xbox tantrum. I text sister days ago re your belongings'. Then detail arrangements for him/sister to collect and by a certain date or they will be left outside. The end

FinallyHere · 16/10/2020 19:03

I'd go for 👍🏻 and block

Have a great weekend with your lovely family.

Krampusasbabysitter · 16/10/2020 19:20

I'd be really tempted to sell the bike and stuff to recoup all the money he took from you and especially your kids. It will go towards the price of a new lock and keys.

FinallyHere · 16/10/2020 19:46

@Krampusasbabysitter

Now that is an ides.

ContessaDiPulpo · 17/10/2020 07:03

Hope you got it all sorted and are now kicking back for the weekend OP Smile

justilou1 · 17/10/2020 11:54

Very pleased that job’s done! I hope he accepts the decision and sucks it up. I also hope he respects your boundaries re your kids. Also suggest changing passwords on all devices, internet, Netflix, etc....

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 17/10/2020 12:41

I'd give him a day or two to give you a time when he will collect his belongings (including his bike), droopyears and then leave it outside for him to move.

If he doesn't come and it gets nicked, well that's too bad.

It's not your responsibility to get his stuff delivered and bugger that trying to fit a bike in the car. Why the hell should you do that?

Hope you're feeling better about it all now.

GingerBeverage · 17/10/2020 13:02

Just think how much more money and food and spare time you're going to have. And less clutter!
But seriously, he sounds as if he's been using low key control tactics for quite some time (silent treatment). So worth looking into how to avoid someone like this in future.

GabsAlot · 17/10/2020 13:19

did you reply op

Namechanger0800 · 17/10/2020 16:50

What a bellend - just read the whole 2 threads! Tired of your shit wtf? Anyway- I hope by now I've dumped his shit and sold his bike

MrsCatE · 18/10/2020 05:58

I note OP made a very valid point upthread of no point in updating if there was nothing to report however, I can't help but think this is yet another instance of cock lodger returning home to roost.

Ladies, picture the following scenario - how could any of us resist?

Cock lodger on door step - quivering top lip, audible hunger pangs emanating from his belly, thrusting a handful of unrinsed Yeo Tokens towards us as form of reparation (other hand behind back - firmly clasping gaming console; freshly labelled with cock lodger name and threats of painful consequences if anyone else dares to touch).

Mother parked around the corner on tenterhooks, poised to release handbrake and race to house (when given signal) with a rebel yell from rented van packed to the brim full of son's crap - everything that's been cluttering up her spare room, his childhood bedroom (which he refused to clear out), attic, shed, conservatory she shelled out on with visions of whiling away autumnal afternoons, Gardener's Question Time playing on her Robert's Radio, flicking through her Women's Weekly whilst sipping her daily pint of Gin. Cock lodger's mother has just turned 50 but has prematurely aged - it is said you have to choose between face and arse as you get older and since he moved back in that option has been taken away from her; he even found her secret snack stash hidden under the kitchen sink - who would have thought he'd have ever ventured anywhere near cleaning products?

thegreywoman · 18/10/2020 09:31

Nah MrsCatE you got one thing wrong there! Isn't it usually the bottom lip that quivers? The only quivering top lip I ever imagined was when Dr Lecter said to Clarice 'I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti'.

Given the circumstances though, maybe you are right after all Grin

PlaiceonEarth · 18/10/2020 09:35

.

droopyears · 18/10/2020 09:41

@MrsCatE Although I appreciate the effort you put in to that story, I'm afraid it's not true (when it comes to me anyway) Smile

I decided to take the DC's on an extremely last minute weekend away. We haven't gone that far, or done that much (due to covid) but it's done us all the world of good not staring at the same 4 walls

ContessaDiPulpo · 18/10/2020 10:10

Sounds fab OP - hope the weather is treating you all kindly!

billy1966 · 18/10/2020 10:12

@MrsCatE
Nice prose 👍😁

OP, delighted it's not true and you are away having a nice break.
Stay strong.Flowers

Berthatydfil · 18/10/2020 10:16

Good for you. Enjoy the weekend.

Etinox · 18/10/2020 10:31

Great update @droopyears
Have a super weekend.

Sarahsah4r4 · 18/10/2020 10:36

@droopyears

An update to make you chuckle! I have just received a message from The Token Thief stating that he is 'tired of my shit', and if it happens again then 'he's done' Hmm

Perfect text for me to respond to to end things!

How he doth flatter himself 🤣🤣🤣
