Hi all. Genuinely asking for friend.

She wants to begin divorce proceedings. She has a controlling partner who has such a verbally threatening temper that police have been called twice in the past.

How would the papers be served and if by a letter in the post would she and her children be at risk?

If this was your case, how did you serve papers?

I belive she could apply to the courts to have him banned from coming back to the house. Therse could be served at the same time as the divorce papers I belive. These papers could also be served to the man at his place of work. If he then came near her or the house then she could have him arrested. But I belive she would need proof she or her children were in danger.

My advice is if she feels in danger then she should just go somewhere she knows is safe. Then serve the divorce papers. Then fight for the house and what ever else in court later on. Nothing is ever worth more than your safety. I hope things work out.
