How do I help my son

My Lo is 3. His father and I are divorcing. His father has moved to the other side of the country and sees him once a month. There are no video calls or phone calls in between. My 3 yr old tells me daily he misses daddy and when is he going on holiday to see daddy? I tell him daddy is working today but it won't be long and you can see daddy. I have suggested to his father that he calls him which he did start doing but i didn't hear my phone ring one day. I called him back and they spoke. Afterwards I text him just to confirm he spoke to him he said right that's it if your up to something I will stop ringing. So he stopped. I said again especially during lockdown he needs to call him. He hasn't. How do I help my 3 year old?

Distraction mostly. You can't make your ex do better by your dc, or make promises on his behalf, so it's a case of "I'm sorry you feel sad, (hug) let's play a game/whatever."

Yes just distract. Let him forget him.

Definitely distract him. Maybe find a play group or some activities he can participate in to keep him busy and wear him out by the end of the day.
