Communication tips?

DP and I have never been very good at talking things through. It usually ends up with me refusing to discuss things any more because it turns into a 'blame game' situation. We seem to be at crisis point now where we are both very sensitive to little things and have admitted that we're frustrated and something needs to change.

I really don't want to break up as I am pregnant and do honestly believe that he's the love of my life, he's a lovely guy and we are very happy most of the time, we just need to work on how we deal with conflict.

Does anyone have any tips or advice on how to get better at this? I've ordered a few books but they won't arrive for a few days, so I'd appreciate the wisdom of my fellow mumsnetters Smile
