Mr reliable,
Ex wife wanted him to keep a watch on teenage son whilst away with her partner and it spoilt our weekend. We had planned to go away.

I have lost respect for him since ex wife shouts and he jumps. I just stopped caring. Everything changed so quickly. I want to get back to where we were but like a switch bang feelings changed.

Has this sudden change of heart happened to you? Cannot explain feelings just went when he did want she said. No backbone to stand up to her made me question everything

Why would you want to get back to where you were?

It sounds like it's a good thing you have emotionally disengaged from this man.

category12 · 20/09/2020 20:55

I have had the experience of just suddenly feeling "done" with a relationship.

Pinotgrigio33 · 20/09/2020 21:12

That was an issue with me...she says jump he asked how high!

Browneyesbigbum · 20/09/2020 21:22

I liked him a lot. Great fun. Brilliant sex and lots of it. Very high sex drive and not boring or predictable sex

I want to get back to the fun

Did you end it or did it get better again

Being a pushover isn't an attractive trait.

How long have you been together?

category12 · 20/09/2020 21:30

I ended it, I was glad because I'd been putting up with things I shouldn't have.

Which brings me back to why do you want to go back? If he treats you like second-best.

safeordangerous · 20/09/2020 21:36

He's put his kids first. Isn't that what he's supposed to do?

Browneyesbigbum · 20/09/2020 21:41

Indeed, that's why I have lost interest.

14 months

It only happened the once. He said that he would never do it again., but something changed

Eh?

He's looking after his own son. He's parenting. It's not spineless or bending over backwards; this is what decent parents do.

I get that you're irritated about your spoilt weekend but give the man a break..

Appledaze · 20/09/2020 21:53

So.... You stopped having feelings immediately because of this one incident? Involving his son?

insertcleverusername · 20/09/2020 22:01

Apparently, this is a common phenomenon, known as getting The Ick. Anything can set off The Ick!

newnameforthis123 · 21/09/2020 00:07

The ick.

It's ok to not want to date someone who already has children.

But you need to tell him and end it.
