....and then Boris can just muck things up in the background. People tend to listen to and respect the queen.

Not everybody does. I'm not a fan, at all.

I doubt very much I'd listen to anything she had to say.

iklboo · 17/09/2020 17:54

Do they buggery.

'Not everybody does. I'm not a fan, at all'

Very much ditto

AltogetherAndrews · 17/09/2020 18:00

Very much not her role. She is apolitical, so cannot announce the decisions of a political party. As that would make them her decisions.

MarshaBradyo · 17/09/2020 18:02

The pandemic highlights the lack of need for RF imo

But no thanks to Queen doing guidelines, I think it would be almost comical

MJMG2015 · 17/09/2020 18:20

Posting about the Queen & Covid in relationships is all kinds of confusing!

I think her messages appeal to a certain sector of the public and certainly don't hurt.

Right now I'd rather hear from most anyone other than Boris!!

Not only because he's full of crap, but for a bloke that went to Ashford/Eton/Oxford he's no public speaker! 🙇🏻‍♀️

Sorry, I meant to post in chat! I not much of a royalist either, but she seems to inspire the DM masses - everyone waving their flags singing God Save Our Queen. It then takes it away from politics - I don’t think guidelines should be viewed just as a political thing when everyone hates Boris.

Perhaps Airmiles Island Andy could make the announcements? It would be fitting.

Well, he's made it to prime minister.

But queen should be neutral so I'd listen if she spoke but not really read too much into it.

Hes a complete shambles, and always has been. Always thought people who wanged on about his 'charisma' were off their heads 🙄

Plentyofshit · 17/09/2020 19:21

Plan is formed - we have the queen, someone from Love Island and Stampy to announce Covid guidelines. With Brian Cox there to make it look clever and scientific.

I'd sort of listen then veer off Grin

I'm washing my hands, keeping social distancing, wearing a face mask, not having raves in my bedroom.

Don't see much more else I can do or what anyone else can say.
