So funny... anyone else?

Been on mnet for the last couple of hours having the most interesting and thought provoking time reading and posting about the fundamentals of parenting.

DH, meanwhile, has been sitting beside me and completely absorbed in the rugby and has been constantly asking me to "watch this!" "can you believe this?" "come on France" and two seconds ago "Oh my God, What do you think about that, New Zealand are out!" without actually realising or caring that I am not the slightest bit interested. I even told him to shut up an hour ago but he is still talking to me even now about the match, despite my failure to respond apart from "shhh, I don't care", here and there.

Anyone else have these completely dual track conversations? Love him dearly but it's so funny that we care so much about completely different things!! He's still talking about the result btw...

yes, except in our house it's usually about poker tournaments - either ones he's been in or ones he's watching.

believe me, a card by card explanation of how he won is incredibly yawnsworthy

DaddyJ · 06/10/2007 22:13

Oh. sorry.

xXxamyxXx · 06/10/2007 22:28

daddyj you will be in troublei think it works both ways dh has to listen to me talk to him about my soaps when i watch them

Pages · 06/10/2007 22:54

Ha ha. DH watches the soaps with me every night, always sits down at 7.30 and is silently, but if I go out of the room and come back in and say "what happened? Why did so and so do that?, etc" he always says "I don't know".

XXX - its Halo in my house atm too.... Dh has decided he wants to play it on the main tv downstairs because apparently, the portable that he used to play it on 'doesn't do the Halo grahpics justice'

xXxamyxXx · 06/10/2007 22:58

what worse is dh pretends not to be watching but then says did she tell him shes his mother yet?or some comment that he could only say if he was following every minute of it!
