When to request elective c section

I am 18 weeks pregnant with my first baby. I am terrified of natural birth and don’t think I can cope with it. After hearing many horror stories of vaginal birth gone wrong I have decided to have a elective c section. Does anyone know when should I bring this up with my midwife? I fear leaving it too late in case I need to fight for it or change hospitals, or telling them to early and be dismissed.

Op is report your post and ask for it to be moved to the birth section of mumsnet. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/childbirth

This needs to go into pregnancy or childbirth. Raise it at your next midwife appointment.

A c section is major abdominal surgery not without serious risk so they have to show you the potential risks. It’s your right but do explore the relative risks yourself.
