How do you support someone through a break up?

Hello all,

I feel like I want to be a good friend but I am not knowing the best approach to take. My friend has recently gone through a break up, he was incredible with me when my engagement fell through and I want to ensure I can offer him the same support.

When I was with my ex or even going through my break up, I used to think how lucky he was to have his relationship. He was besotted with her and she appeared to be with him. They had a lovely life, holidays, posted loved up pictures etc, very close with each others families, lovely wedding. After 2 years married and 7 years together, they have ended.

I want to be there for him and ensure he gets through this, as I worry he will totally fall apart. He says he’s fine and just won’t talk about it. He’s already talking about dates etc! 1 month on and I worry he’s not going to grieve
